The ProteoShell Kit I is designed to boost recombinant protein expression in E. coli. It is simple, fast, and effective. You will only require common laboratory equipment and skills to use it. Key features: •By inserting your gene into the pPS-I plasmid, your protein is merged N-terminally with ProteoShell •ProteoShells are expressed in T7 E. coli strains, e.g. BL21 (DE3) and derivatives •Induction is regulated with lactose / IPTG •Simple isolation of ProteoShells via selective precipitation followed by resolubilization •Release of the protein of interest using TEV protease (not included) •Optimal results for non-membrane proteins (or soluble domains of membrane proteins) with domains > 50KDa Kit contents: •pPS-I-(a) expression plasmid •Lysis Buffer •Harvest Buffer •4x Washing Buffer •4x Reconstitution Buffer The Kit is offered with reagents sufficient for 10 or 50 protein preparations. A preparation is defined as the processing of 10 g of freshly harvested cells, although the procedure is readily adapted to any desired amount.
For optimal protein load: The ProteoShell Kit I plus
This Kit enables the tuning of the amount of protein of interest contained in each ProteoShell. Ideal for very small or very large proteins, and slow-translating sequences.
